The Missing Variable to Goal Achievement

Hi Reader,

As STEM professionals we live in a world of logic. Sometimes we forget to tune into our heartfelt and real emotions, mainly when it comes to personal growth.

Data says most of us give up on our personal goals by February. But I don’t need stats to tell me that. I’ve seen and lived it.

Last year a friend had a big goal to lose weight. He had a solid plan. He knew the logic: health problems = time to change. He got a walking buddy. He bought a stationary bike.

He even told me, “This time, I’m serious.” And he was… for a while. Then, slowly, the weekly updates turned into confessions.

“I biked for 2 miles — but I also crushed a pack of cookies.” Sound familiar? Before long, the bike was collecting dust, the walks stopped, and his goal faded away.

We’ve all been there.

So, what happened.

He never connected to his why — that deeper reason that fuels us when things get tough.

To give ourselves a reasonable chance of success - we must not overlook this important step.

That’s exactly what I shared in my latest LinkedIn Live. If you’ve got a goal that matters (and you’re tired of starting over), don’t miss the replay. It might be the boost you need.

Check out the replay here if you’re ready to do more than just start strong.

📢Testimonial

Bobby,

I am very grateful to you for believing in me. Many people give words of encouragement enough to feel like they did their part to offer support. You Bobby went further and invested your time and patiently guided me into a place where I became confident in what you already realized in me. I know this journey continues but with your investment, the path is a little clearer. I will be forever grateful for your kind words, prayers, and coaching. EWJB

BOBBY CLARK FINANCIAL COACH Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits and Your Money Habits Hi Reader, Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you work, money slips through your fingers? You’re not alone. I have felt the same stress. Long hours, tight schedules, and family responsibilities leave little room for financial peace. Stephen Covey’s classic book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, isn’t just for leadership. His habits also work for managing money. I want to share each one and how it...

Bobby Clark FINANCIAL COACH Marriage: Building Daily Money Habits Together Hi Reader, When my spouse and I first got married, our financial conversations sounded more like negotiations than teamwork. We had a “my money” attitude. We leaned toward individual bank accounts. Every bill, every purchase, every savings decision felt like we were sitting on opposite corners of the table. Looking back, I realize how much energy we wasted trying to defend our own corners. It wasn’t that either of us...

Hi Reader, Chemists know that a reaction can be safe and controlled or dangerous and explosive. Using the wrong ingredients, or overheating can trigger a chain reaction that’s hard to stop. Debt works the same way. At first, it seems harmless to take out a loan, use a credit card, or finance a new car. But if you don’t manage it properly, it grows faster than you expect. Before you know it, you're struggling to keep up with payments. And your financial situation feels out of control. Let’s...
